Ramirez Super -- No-Hits Vancouver
Friday, October 22nd , 2049
Brian Ramirez really did a number on the Vancouver Canadians at Avista Stadium today -- and that number was zero.
The Spokane Indians hurler had what he later called "one of the best moments of my life," tossing a no-hitter and leading the Indians to victory, 4-0.
"This is something special," Ramirez said. "I knew from the fifth inning that I had a no-hitter working. I tried to get it out of my mind, but you just can't. They have too many scoreboards in the park. They're everywhere you look."
The right-hander faced only 27 batters in the no-hit gem, struck out 15 and walked 1.
"We simply couldn't get any wood on the ball," Vancouver manager Bobby Keithley said when asked about the epic performance. "Ramirez was brilliant out there. He certainly had our number."
So far this season Ramirez has 18 wins and 6 losses and a 2.17 ERA.
