League Rules Rivera Out 4 Games
Friday, May 14th , 2049
The Vermont Lake Monsters were officially notified that catcher Edgardo Rivera had been suspended for an altercation that occurred in yesterday's game with the Twins at Baseball City Complex. After arguing a called third strike by the plate umpire, an enraged Rivera threw his batting helmet toward home after he reached the dugout.
That action got him ejected and a 4-game suspension.
"I threw the helmet and I shouldn't have. But I don't deserve the suspension. It was a bad call that started this whole mess."
This year Rivera has hit at a .278 clip with 14 RBIs, 3 home runs and 10 runs scored.
