Smashing Success: Adams Jr. Wallops 3 HR
Tuesday, July 13th , 2049
Great Falls Voyagers first baseman Brad Adams Jr. put on a dazzling display of power today at Juan Marichal Complex against the Oakland (APP) Athletics. In the 9-2 Voyagers victory Adams Jr. penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Oakland (APP) manager Michael Durant said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 22-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Adams Jr. said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Brad Adams Jr. hit a three-run home run off Kian-tat Guao in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Bill McAskill in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Luis Stuit in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
Presently Adams Jr. is hitting .349 with 14 home runs and 44 RBIs. He has played in 53 games and scored 44 times.
