O'Dwyer Bashes 3 HR for Pulaski
Sunday, July 18th , 2049
Jim O'Dwyer brutalized the Oakland (APP) Athletics pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 5-2 victory at Calfee Park. The Pulaski Yankees first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-3 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much Jim O'Dwyer today," Athletics manager Michael Durant said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Jim O'Dwyer hit a solo-shot off Kian-tat Guao in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Albie Cisneros in the 4th and hit a solo-shot off Luis Stuit in the 6th.
O'Dwyer is batting .240 with 17 home runs and 29 RBIs this season.
