Murillo Swats 3 Homers Thursday, October 7th , 2049 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Carlos Murillo did today at Bowen Field, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 18-2. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Murillo said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Bluefield Blue Jays third baseman blistered the Burlington Royals for 3 hits, batted in 4 runs and scored 4 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Burlington manager Cássio Blemarcick said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Carlos Murillo grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Matthew Kane in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Ryan Robbins in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off David Wright in the 8th. Thus far this season in 9 games Murillo is batting .375 with 5 home runs, 9 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 12 hits in 32 at-bats. |
