For the victorious Boston (WIN) Red Sox, that meant the Winter League Baseball World Series trophy. The Red Sox took a 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay (WIN) Rays at JetBlue Park, winning their 3rd championship after taking the series 4-1. "We've got grit," said Red Sox left fielder Jose Diaz, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to." The new titleholders completed the regular season with a second-place finish in the Division A and a 25-17 record. |
