Tuesday, March 2nd , 2049
The future looks extremely bright for Jose Diaz. At the age of 23, many players are still trying to find their way in Winter League Baseball.
Diaz has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Division A Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .347 this year, that's for sure," the left fielder said.
The Boston (WIN) Red Sox star also put up a .404 on-base percentage this year, with 51 hits, 9 doubles, 1 triple, 9 home runs, 26 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 30. Dominik Hasek II of the Toronto (WIN) Blue Jays finished second in voting with 9 first place votes, while Luis Herrera of the Texas (WIN) Rangers finished third with 4 first place votes.
