Shaw Tags 3 HR Against Orioles
Friday, September 24th , 2049
Greg Shaw brutalized the Baltimore Orioles pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 8-7 victory at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The Boston Red Sox catcher was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much Greg Shaw today," Orioles manager John Baltimore said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Greg Shaw grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Chris Anderson in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Chris Dauphin in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off Jose Lara in the 11th.
In his season totals, Shaw has 14 home runs, .255 BA, .293 OBP, 48 RBIs and 53 runs scored. He has played in 107 games.
