Four-bagger Feast: Jaquez Slugs 3 for Kansas City
Sunday, September 26th , 2049
The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Houston Astros today.
Kansas City second baseman Mike Jaquez tripled up on the home runs to propel the Royals to the 9-6 win at Minute Maid Park.
"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Houston manager Dave DaSilva said. "Jaquez hit the heck out of the ball."
In addition to the homers, Jaquez collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."
Mike Jaquez hit a two-run home run off Lance Crumpton in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Lance Crumpton in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Scott Spillman in the 8th.
Thus far this year Jaquez is hitting .258 with 48 home runs, 125 RBIs and 93 runs scored.
