Brookshire and Morante Fight, Get Suspended Sunday, September 26th , 2049 If there wasn't a history between Malik Brookshire of Seattle and Gus Morante of California, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 8 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Brookshire said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." So far this year in 113 games Brookshire is hitting .211 with 2 home runs, 15 RBIs and 20 runs scored. This year Morante has fashioned a 9-7 mark, 5.38 ERA and pitched 145.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .283 against him and he has logged 140 strikeouts. |
