Nationals Come up Short of Playoffs Wednesday, September 29th , 2049 The playoff hopes of the Washington Nationals have been extinguished for the year. Today, the team was mathematically eliminated from qualifying for the 2049 postseason. "It's weird, yesterday we were all talking about what we needed to do to make it to the World Series and now we're just counting down the days until the offseason, said Nationals shortstop Dylan Novakowski. Washington last appeared in the postseason in 2045. This is their 4th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 70 times in their 81 - year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Nationals have missed the playoffs 7 times. |
