Padres Heading to League Championship Series Wednesday, October 13th , 2049 The Division Series may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The San Diego Padres, however, are not complaining. The Padres were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the San Francisco Giants to advance to the League Championship Series. San Diego won the final game by a 6-0 count at AT&T Park and the series 3-1. Padres third baseman Hildo Pot was named series MVP, as he hit .556 with a .619 on-base percentage. He added 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs. "It's not going to be the last time San Francisco makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Pot said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day." The San Diego Padres will play against the Atlanta Braves in the next round.
