Rooney Top Rookie in 2049 Saturday, November 13th , 2049 What a season it was for Pittsburgh's Nick Rooney in this new star's first year in the National League. He put together a year that earned him the 2049 Rookie of the Year Award. The 24-year-old first baseman crunched some good numbers with a .271 batting average and a .340 on-base percentage to go with his 25 home runs, 96 RBIs and 94 runs scored. He received 29 first place votes out of a possible 30. Josh Jones of the New York Mets finished second in voting, while Tony Casas of the Cincinnati Reds finished third.
