What does it take to win the Cy Young Award?

Just ask Ricky Salas of the Chicago White Sox -- the latest American League Cy Young Award winner.

"My dad always told me to dream big and dream always," he said. "It's not like I shoot for the Cy Young Award," he said. "I have big aspirations for what I want to do in this game and what I want to achieve in a long career."

The White Sox pitching ace made some of his dreams come true this year, winning 18 games and losing only 4. In 30 starts, Salas registered a 2.63 ERA and limited other clubs to a .226 batting average. He fanned 223 in 215.1 innings and issued 59 walks.

He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Hoof Harted of the Toronto Blue Jays finished second in voting, while Spencer Jones of the Toronto Blue Jays finished third.
