Big Deal: Grape for Scripp Sunday, December 5th , 2049 The Cincinnati Reds and Colorado Rockies are the top story in baseball circles today with a huge trade. The Reds will give up 28-year old LHP Eddie Grape, 28-year old LHP Dave Rivera, and a 3rd round draft pick in return for 26-year old RHP Vince Scripp. "You have got to give up talent to get talent," Cincinnati GM Jimmy Silveira II told reporters. "Nobody just gives it away." In his career, Grape has 12 saves with a 31-43 record and a 5.01 ERA. Over the course of his career, Scripp has a won-lost record of 62 wins and 61 losses with 1145 strikeouts in 1067.2 innings pitched with a lifetime 4.52 ERA. |
