University of Arizona's Fernandez DIV I's Best Monday, September 6th , 2049 19-year-old Ricardo Fernandez sent shock waves through Evolution last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Dvision 1 Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Fernandez made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .696 average, 16 hits in 23 at-bats, 2 home runs and 7 RBI. Where the University of Arizona Wildcats catcher goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Fernandez certainly made his mark last week. Fernandez is hitting .397 so far this season with 10 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 25 hits including 3 home runs, 5 walks and .441 OBP. |
