Amaya of University of Arizona Player of the Week Monday, October 11th , 2049 20-year-old Eddy Amaya sent shock waves through Evolution last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Dvision 1 Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Amaya made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .346 average, 9 hits in 26 at-bats, 4 home runs and 7 runs batted in. Where the University of Arizona Wildcats first baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Amaya certainly made his mark last week. For the season Amaya has hit .295 with 16 home runs and 26 RBIs. He has played in 47 games and scored 34 times. |
