Sheldon Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Monday, November 29th , 2049 D.J. Sheldon collected 1 hit in today's game and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. His club, the University of Illinois Fighting Illini, beat the Wichita State University Shockers 7-5. "Right now, when they throw me the ball, it looks the size of a softball," Sheldon quipped to a BNN reporter after the game. "I'm excited about how things are clicking." D.J. Sheldon hit an RBI single in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. For the season Sheldon is currently batting .316 with 25 home runs and 73 RBIs. In 81 games he has reached base at a .375 rate and scored 53 runs to date. |
