Cougars End Sheldon's Streak Wednesday, December 1st , 2049 Lady Luck was not on the side of D.J. Sheldon or his teammates today at Illinois Field. Everything went the way of the Washington State University Cougars, who not only came away with the 8-7 victory over University of Illinois, but also held Sheldon hitless in 6 at-bats to put an end to his 21-game hitting streak. "It was a good run," Sheldon said afterward. "It would be much easier to take right now if we had won." On the season, Sheldon is batting .311 with 25 home runs and 75 RBIs. He has played in 83 games. |
