Worth Put in Cooler, Hitless Against UCLA
Thursday, December 16th , 2049
The UCLA Bruins did something to Neil Worth no team had done for the last 26 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Owls, who came away with the 3-1 victory at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
"Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 19-year-old first baseman said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted."
This year Worth is batting .302 with 16 home runs. He has scored 45 runs and driven in 49.
