Commodores Ramos Smacks 5 Hits Saturday, December 18th , 2049 5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Vanderbilt University's Jose Ramos made it happen today against the Gamecocks. Everything came together at the plate for the 19-year-old left fielder as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats -- and led the Commodores to a 9-4 win at Carolina Stadium. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Ramos said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em." Jose Ramos grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the year Ramos has hit at a .324 clip with 54 RBIs, 15 home runs and 68 runs scored. |
