Williamson Tags Golden Bears for 5 Hits
Thursday, December 30th , 2049
It was a sensational day at the plate for Chris Williamson as he led the charge to a 14-0 win over the Golden Bears. The University of Michigan catcher was pure misery for the University of California pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Williamson put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Hunter Watson, manager for the Golden Bears, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Chris Williamson singled in the 1st, hit a sac fly in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Frank Salinas in the 8th.
So far this year Williamson is hitting .293 with 16 home runs.
