Kleinjan #1 Rookie This Year Sunday, February 21st , 2049 He was a "talented and gifted ballplayer." That the way one BNN writer described the rookie first baseman for Stanford University in the article announcing him as the Dvision 1 Rookie of the Year Award recipient. Donny Kleinjan came on the scene this year and quickly established himself as player to be reckoned with. The 19-year-old Cardinal newcomer took the trophy by hitting .330 in 120 games this season and finished with 150 hits, 46 home runs, 114 RBIs and 104 runs scored. He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 18. Ryan Quintero of the University of Toronto Marlies finished second in voting with 8 first place votes, while Dave Hutchison of the UCLA Bruins finished third.
