Shafeeq bin Haytham was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 14-1 Trois-Riveres Aigles triumph at ThunderBolts Center today.
The 17-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Aigles past the Windy City ThunderBolts.
"One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," bin Haytham told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate."
The first baseman went 3-for-5, rung up 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day.
Shafeeq bin Haytham struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Chang-wei Quian in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Santos Gonzales in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Tyler Thackeray in the 8th.
bin Haytham is hitting .120 for the season with 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 10 hits in 83 at-bats and played in 27 games.
