1B Higgs Given 4-Game Suspension Tuesday, July 27th , 2049 Hamilton's Steven Higgs made contact with the home plate umpire during a dispute in the game with the Devils yesterday and he will have to pay for it. Higgs violently disagreed when he was called out on strikes. During the intense discussion he bumped chests with the umpire and was immediately tossed out of the game. Today the league commissioner gave him a 4-game suspension. Still steamed by it, Higgs told BNN, "I think the ump bumped me and he is the one who should be suspended. I'm going to appeal this sucker." In 65 games this season Higgs has batted at a .202 pace with 49 hits and 6 home runs. |
