16 Ks for Santos, Beats Niagara Falls 2-1
Thursday, September 2nd , 2049
Led by an outstanding performance from starter Chris Santos, the Columbus Reds topped the Niagara Falls Phantoms today by a score of 2-1 at Columbus Baseball Complex. The 20-year-old Santos brought his top game to the mound, striking out 16 batters while allowing 1 hit and giving up 1 walk.
"He made a lot of good pitches out there," Phantoms manager Tyler Heineman said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes."
This year Santos has 3 wins and 6 losses and a 3.65 ERA.
