Hit Parade: Plummer Pops 5 Hits
Tuesday, October 5th , 2049
A jubilant Taylor Plummer joined the postgame press conference at The Aquarium today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Brockton Rox pitching staff he had just vanquished.
"It may not have looked like it," said the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs center fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."
That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-9 hitting performance, which led the Blue Crabs to a 4-3 win.
"He made it look easy," said Doug Brockett, manager of the Rox. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."
Taylor Plummer singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, flied out in the 10th, singled in the 12th, struck out in the 15th, singled in the 17th, walked in the 18th, singled in the 20th and singled in the 23rd.
In 45 games Plummer is hitting .309 this season with 50 hits, 9 home runs, 27 RBIs, 23 walks, .395 OBP and has scored 21 runs.
