Heat Advance to Quarter-Finals Tuesday, October 19th , 2049 Kelowna designated hitter Alex Larangho couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the Round 1. "It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Larangho moments after his club eliminated the Amarillo ThunderHeads to advance to the Quarter-Finals. Kelowna won the final game by a score of 8-3 at Ballpark of Amarillo and took the series 4-1. "We won the series and that's the main thing," Larangho said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted." For the series, Larangho hit .278 with a .409 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 4 runs. "He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Amarillo manager John Zumbo. The Quarter-Finals matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
