Hontz Sizzles -- Smokes Red Wings for 5 Hits Saturday, October 23rd , 2049 Southern Maryland Blue Crabs shortstop Sam Hontz went 5-for-5 today and paced Southern Maryland to a 5-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings at Mike Ilitch Memorial Field. "Well, that was fun," Hontz said following the game. Sam Hontz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Leon Benitez in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In 26 games this season Hontz has batted at a .230 pace with 20 hits and no home runs. |
