#1 Player Named by Eastern League
Wednesday, December 1st , 2049
At the age of 25, Zach Chmieleski of the Chester Pirates could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2049 was good enough to win the first baseman the Eastern League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .363 batting average this year, as well as a .493 on-base percentage. He played 128 games and racked up 158 hits, 11 doubles, no triples, 71 home runs, 138 RBIs and 99 runs scored.
He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Terry Oetker of the Winnipeg Goldeyes finished second in voting, while Victor Turrubiate of the Winnipeg Goldeyes finished third.
