Sacramento-Syracuse Brawl, Bonner and Gutierrez Suspended Saturday, July 16th , 2050 After an intense confrontation, both the River Cats Justin Bonner and the Chiefs Freddy Gutierrez were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Sacramento-Syracuse game. Justin Bonner will miss 5 games, while Freddy Gutierrez was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Justin Bonner commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." In his season totals, Bonner has no home runs, .166 BA, .307 OBP, 12 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has played in 58 games. On the season Gutierrez has a 1-6 record with a 3.59 ERA. |
