Kopchak Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Tuesday, May 31st , 2050 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Nate Kopchak did it again, bashing 3 hits in the contest at San Jose Municipal Stadium today. For the last 20 games in a row, the 30-year-old center fielder has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Biloxi Shuckers beat the San Jose Giants 8-4 today. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Kopchak told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Biloxi clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Nate Kopchak singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Mitsuo Kuriyama in the 9th. This year Kopchak is hitting at a .328 pace with 5 home runs and 17 RBIs. He has played in 33 games and scored 23 times. |
