Monday, June 27th , 2050
American League pitchers tried and tried all week long to stop Matt Hyde, but to no avail.
His eyes would light up when he came to the plate and he hit everything in sight, batting .600 for the week to win the AL Player of the Week Award. The Birmingham first baseman cracked 9 hits in 15 at-bats, no home runs, drove in 2 runs and scored 1 times.
So far this season Hyde is hitting .344 with 2 home runs, 33 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has 88 hits in 256 at-bats and a .384 OBP.
