Arkansas Shut Out by Cobb
Sunday, July 17th , 2050
The Arkansas Travelers manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Frisco RoughRiders. The Travelers were overpowered by Frisco starter Mike Cobb, who hurled his club to victory, 3-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Trevor Story said.
Over 9 innings, Cobb blanked Arkansas on 2 hits with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Cobb said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
So far this year Cobb has made 18 starts, tossed 124.1 innings, struck out 126 batters and walked 41. His record is 10-3 with a 2.17 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .195 batting average.
