No-Hit Masterpiece by Duffy Monday, August 22nd , 2050 Birmingham Barons starter Mark Duffy was unhittable today at Regions Field. Duffy beat the Jackson Generals 2-0, breezing through the Generals lineup en route to a no-hitter. "I thought Mark started off a little slow and was struggling with his command at first," Barons manager Ashton Upchurch said later. "He lucked his way through the early innings, and they helped him out by not being patient. Eventually, it all came together for him, and from there on the Generals never had a chance. He dominated them." Duffy struck out 5 batters and issued 3 walks in the performance. To date Duffy is 9-9 in 22 starts with a 3.52 ERA and has 114 strikeouts in 143 innings. |
