20-Game Streak Ends, McIntyre Hitless
Tuesday, September 6th , 2050
After 20 games, Herb McIntyre had his hitting streak ended abruptly today by the San Jose Giants at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The Biloxi Shuckers second baseman failed to get a hit in 1 at-bat, bringing his tenure in the national spotlight to a halt.
Despite the tough day at the plate, McIntyre seemed unconcerned after the game, talking instead about the Shuckers taking a 5-1 victory from the Giants.
"It was good while it lasted," McIntyre said. "If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory."
This year McIntyre is batting .367 with 6 home runs and 24 RBIs. In 42 games he has scored 17 times.
