Clark, Esquibel Suspended for Fracas
Friday, September 16th , 2050
If there wasn't a history between Steve Clark of San Antonio and Jose Esquibel of Columbia, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 8 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Clark said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
In the current season, Clark has put up a .226 batting average with 99 hits, 10 home runs, 39 RBI and scored 34 runs.
Esquibel has posted a 6-9 record for the year with a 2.60 ERA. Teams are hitting .243 against him and he has rung up 123 strikeouts in 183.1 innings.
