Springfield Takes Division Championship in Deciding Game
Wednesday, October 12th , 2050
The Springfield Cardinals were paced by a strong offensive output from Chris Rouleau as they downed the Mississippi Braves 4-3 to win the Division Championship.
Springfield won the final game by a score of 5-3 at Trustmark Park to send themselves off to the Conference Championship.
"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said second baseman Rouleau, who was named MVP.
For the series, the MVP hit .304 with a .333 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Championship finishes.
