AL Gives Best Pitcher Award Saturday, November 12th , 2050 The Akron RubberDucks have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Tom Frost, this year's American League Outstanding Pitcher Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Frost compiled a 15-5 record in 32 starts, tallied 237 strikeouts in 228.2 innings and recorded a 1.69 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .188 batting average against him. He received 24 first place votes out of a possible 30. Joe Babich of the Akron RubberDucks finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Cooper Bate of the Frisco RoughRiders finished third.
