Alex de Leon Strokes 3 Home Runs Monday, January 10th , 2050 Alex de Leon of the Tortugas went on a hitting spree at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium today and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a 10-8 loss to the Dunedin Blue Jays. "I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," de Leon said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too." The Daytona shortstop did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. Alex de Leon flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Gil Brady in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Sabin in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Chris Mansfield in the 9th. This season de Leon is hitting .228 with 23 hits, 5 home runs, 10 RBIs, scored 15 runs and played in 28 games. |
