The Math Says - Threshers Out of Playoffs Friday, January 14th , 2050 It's now time for the Clearwater Threshers to start turning their attention to what can be done to help improve the club for next season. The team was formally eliminated from playoff contention today for the 2049 season. "We knew a title was a long shot at this point, but mentally there's a big difference between a tiny chance and no chance at all," said Threshers starting pitcher Carlton Hookway. The Threshers have made the playoffs 8 times in their 34 years as a California Winter League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 11th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2038. |
