Blue Rocks End Montez's Streak Friday, January 14th , 2050 It was a doubly miserable day today for Juan Montez of the Inland Empire 66ers, as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end and his team lose 9-0 to the Wilmington Blue Rocks at San Manuel Stadium. The 23-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 2 at-bats by the Blue Rocks. "Anyone on a 20-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Wilmington manager Dillon Chaltry said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." Montez on the season is hitting .353 with 13 home runs. His stats include 35 RBIs and 37 runs scored. |
