Tortugas Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire Friday, January 21st , 2050 A classic and dramatic Round 1 has wrapped up, with the Daytona Tortugas outlasting the Dunedin Blue Jays to advance to the Division Series. Daytona won the final game by a score of 9-1 and took the series 2-1. "We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said Daytona second baseman Jorge Cruz, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP. Cruz hit .429 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Division Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
