Lynchburg's Abrego Winner, A Best Hitter in January Tuesday, February 1st , 2050 It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 24 Carlos Abrego has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Lynchburg Hillcats star can enjoy the numbers he put up in January, which have garnered him the nod as the A Division Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .436 average with 7 home runs, 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored. This season Abrego has delivered 43 hits in 119 at-bats for a .361 average with 13 home runs. He is getting on base at a .458 clip and his totals also include 28 RBIs and 33 runs scored. This year Abrego has played in 36 games. |
