Lynchburg's Abrego Takes 2049 Most Valuable Player Award
Friday, February 25th , 2050
At the age of 24, Carlos Abrego of the Lynchburg Hillcats could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2049 was good enough to win the designated hitter the A Division Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .361 batting average this year, as well as a .458 on-base percentage. He played 36 games and racked up 43 hits, 3 doubles, 2 triples, 13 home runs, 28 RBIs and 33 runs scored.
He received 19 first place votes out of a possible 30. Chris Mosley of the Potomac Nationals finished second in voting with 11 first place votes, while Tamaichi Sasada of the Carolina Mudcats finished third.
