Pelayo Tags Pelicans for 6 Hits Thursday, January 7th , 2049 Jayden Pelayo of the Blue Rocks was unstoppable in today's 22-9 victory over the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. He battered them for 6 hits in 6 at-bats. "Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Wilmington right fielder after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 6-for-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will." Jayden Pelayo hit a solo-shot off Velimir Sljivancanin in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. So far this year Pelayo is batting .209 with 3 home runs. |
