Quittin' Time: Allen Retires
Wednesday, April 27th , 2050
Tyler Allen said the one thing he hopes he's remembered for in his baseball career is for being the hardest worker around.
It will be time to start reflecting on his career soon, as the 38-year-old Hartford Yard Goats center fielder today announced his retirement from the sport.
"I pride myself on my work ethic and I hope that rubbed off on my teammates and continues to rub off on the team after I'm gone," he said.
A check of his lifetime stats shows Allen has a career .236 average with 82 hits, 19 doubles, 2 triples, 17 home runs and 46 RBIs. To date he has scored 49 runs, walked 12 times and stolen 1 bases.
