LaPlante Stands Out, Choice for Best Pitcher Monday, August 1st , 2050 The Pitcher of the Month has been chosen and the National League trophy went to Fort Wayne hurler, Terry LaPlante. During the month, LaPlante was impressive with a 1.57 ERA and 5 wins and no losses. In 40 innings he struck out 44 and gave up 26 hits and 12 walks.
