Hickory Takes Conference Championship in Deciding Game Saturday, October 29th , 2050 A classic and dramatic Conference Championship has wrapped up, with the Hickory Crawdads outlasting the Lake County Captains to advance to the World Series. Hickory won the final game by a score of 6-0 and took the series 4-3. "We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said Hickory catcher Alex Rivera, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP. Rivera hit .381 with a .381 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
