Galvan Shows Off, Hits for Cycle Friday, January 14th , 2050 Jesus Galvan roughed up Tampa Bay (WIN) Rays pitching in a big way at Louisville Grounds today, leading the Arizona (WIN) to a 8-0 win. With his parents and family watching from the stands, the 32-year-old second baseman put on a magnificent show, hitting for the cycle -- collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game. "It was a good day for that to happen," a beaming Galvan said after the game. "I really got some good looks and delivered. Sometimes you're just on." He finished his historic day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. Jesus Galvan struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Matt Bayer in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In 35 games this year Galvan has posted a .331 average and put up these numbers: 3 home runs, 15 RBIs and 17 runs scored. |
